Mexar Develop Pigment Textile Ink for Seiko Printheads

Mexar extend the development of their Mexar TEX1 inks to include a range of pigment inks suitable for printing to textiles through Seiko Printheads.  The ink set comprises of CMYK with additional spot colours of red, blue, orange, green, light cyan, light magenta and grey.

Mexar have worked with a technology partner to test the ink on Seiko printheads with fantastic results. The printability, colour gamut and fastness properties are all very high.

Mexar awarded an Innovate UK grant

Mexar have been awarded another grant from Innovate UK as part of a consortium bid to develop a time and temperature indicator label (TTI label) for food and pharmaceutical applications.  Working alongside Intray Ltd and CPI (Centre for Process Innovation), Mexar have been assigned the task of developing the internal chemistry of the smart label which will be branded under the OliTec name.  The label is designed to change colour through a traffic light system (green-amber-red) to show consumers a true representation of the real time state of a consumable product.

Mexar take on another new recruit

Mexar are delighted to welcome Dr. Bethany March to join the company.  Bethany has just completed her PhD at Durham University, studying the behaviour of inkjet droplets in OLED systems.  Bethany brings with her a wealth of knowledge regarding the physical chemical aspects of inkjet printing and processes.  Bethany completed her PhD under the supervision of Prof. Colin Bain.

Bethany becomes part of the R&D team at Mexar, specialising in the development of novel inkjet systems.

Mexar welcome a new member to the team

Mexar are very happy to welcome Graeme Fletcher to the company.  Graeme joins Mexar after working at Fujifilm Inkjet Colorants (Grangemouth, UK) for the past 5 years on the development of pigment dispersions for inkjet applications.
